Beer cans fly and shots are fired during a traffic accident near Lake Murray

Beer was thrown and shots were fired during a traffic accident near Lake Murray Tuesday evening, according to the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department.

Logan Cason, 18, is accused of shooting at a vehicle while driving his SUV on Highway 378.

According to arrest warrants, he is charged with three counts of first-degree assault and battery and one count of pointing a firearm at a person.

“Officers interviewed a group of witnesses immediately after this happened, which we believe started as a road rage incident,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said. “The witnesses all reported that officer Cason fired a gun into the air as he drove, then pointed it at the car next to him and fired more shots.”
