Selma Blair visits the Tribeca Film Festival with Service Dog Scout

Selma Blair had an adorable four-legged creature as her date at the Tribeca Film Festival!

The actress, 51, attended the opening night premiere of Diane Von Furstenberg: Woman in Charge with her assistance dog Scout on Wednesday, June 5.

On the red carpet, Blair, wearing a black one-shouldered thigh-slit dress, posed confidently with Scout as they celebrated the documentary that provides an “unprecedented look” into Von Furstenberg’s legendary life.

In a red carpet interview shared on Tribeca’s Instagram Stories, the Cruel intentions star opened up about the women she looks up to.

“Gosh, I really look up to Paulina Porizkova. She’s a dear friend and beautiful. Diane Von Furstenberg, really, because of her staying power, always staying classic. There are so many,” she said.

“There are ones from my youth that I’m always happy with, like Lauren Hutton and Ashley Olsen and Mary-Kate Olsen,” Blair continued. “The ones who were the fun mysteries will always be adored. I love anyone with staying power, no matter their style.”

Blair is also a jury member at the festival for the 2024 Nora Ephron Award, created to “honor the spirit and vision of the legendary filmmaker and writer,” according to a press release.

In May 2022, Blair told PEOPLE that Scout has given her “a lot of independence” since she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2018.

“He’s with me all the time. If I get into a big (muscle) cramp or have trouble moving and need to recalibrate, he can come between my legs, help me get up and balance me,” said she. “It has given me a lot of independence.”

In addition to helping Blair “stay active” and “build stamina,” she told PEOPLE he provided comfort to her 12-year-old son Arthur, whom she shares with ex Jason Bleicka.

“My son, when he goes to see his dad, likes to know Scout is by my side, and I didn’t know he was concerned about my mobility or safety,” Blair told PEOPLE.
