Guard found hanging in truck, police find note

Pune: A private security guard was found hanging from an iron bar at the back of a truck at Khatkewadi on the Pune-Ahmednagar highway early on Wednesday. The truck was parked in front of an auto parts manufacturing unit where the deceased worked. Senior Inspector Savlaram Salgaonkar of Lonikand police station said, “Based on circumstantial evidence, we suspect it to be a case of suicide. The deceased hanged himself in the back of the truck at around 4am. We found a note, purportedly written by him, in support of the cause of Maratha reservation. We will send the same to a handwriting expert for verification.” He added, “The note states that the deceased took the extreme step of making Maratha reservations. He has also asked BJP functionary Pankaja Munde, NCP’s Chaagan Bhujbal and other politicians to support the cause. He also urged quota activist Manoj Jarange to continue his fight for reservation for the Maratha community.”
