Traffic on the Utah highway was halted due to a truck fire

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah Southbound traffic on Interstate 215 near 4700 South is being diverted due to a box truck that caught fire Wednesday afternoon.

Stg. Cameron Roden of the Utah Highway Patrol told KSL that all lanes were closed due to possible hazardous materials in the truck.

Roden said hazardous materials crews are working to clean up hazardous fluids spilled on the highway.

He said the cleanup could take about two hours, but did not say whether some lanes would reopen during the cleanup.

UHP reported approximately 30 minutes of backup traffic while troopers rerouted drivers.
