So it’s not your dog’s first rodeo when it comes to walkies. But there are walkies and there are walkies, if you know what we mean. A walk around the block might not be enough if you’re a particularly fearless sort, but luckily Aotearoa is home to a wealth of dog friendly walks and beaches.

And if your boss has practically chained you to your desk, you can rest easy knowing that there are some top-notch hiking and adventure service providers out there who can ensure your pup lives the good life while you’re toiling away at work.

As a bonus, many of these dog walkers equip their adventures with training for happy, healthy, well-adjusted mutts. Your inbox may be full of 99 problems, but your pup’s health won’t be one of them.

Cool cats might be a thing (allegedly), but The Dog Squad is all about cool canines. The Dog Squad, a dog walking and adventure service, is designed to meet all of your pup’s fitness and socialization needs. Special squads are available for older dogs, dogs with special medical needs and also small breed dogs.

Each walk is approximately 5-12km and a minimum of two hours, with locations varying daily, from forests to farmland and everything in between. This crew is so good at what they do that their packages are currently on the waiting list, but are touted to be reassessed for applications starting in June this year, so if this sounds like your doggo, get in, stat.

The dog walking and adventure service was founded by Amanda and consists of a team of walkers who have all completed a professional dog walking course and an introduction to a senior handler. As a bonus, you will receive real-time updates from your walkers. Delicious.
