The Manning Aquatic and Leisure Center will be closed for five days from July 1.

The center will close until July 5 to allow for much-needed maintenance work.

MidCoast Council pool supervisor Rhett Pattison said crews will carry out work including rust removal and repainting of some of the centre’s structures.

“There will be quite a bit of painting done, so that alone means they would have to close the center because of toxic fumes,” he said.

“There will be some rewiring, replacement of shade sails and installation of new pumps.”

Mr Pattison said the center will be refreshed and ready to reopen on Saturday, July 6.
