Rishab Shetty plans to create with Hobale Films Kantara as a franchise, as there is a lot to discover about the folklore. Readers may be aware that the 2022 film was a fantasy drama with supernatural elements that presented the story of Panjurli Daiva, starring Rishab Shetty in a shockingly different and unique avatar. The film showed Rishab’s character as a kind of demigod with extreme powers and many people started recognizing him as the avatar he portrayed on screen. Although humiliated by the response, Rishab has claimed that he is just an actor who performs according to the script.

In a recent interaction, Rishab threw light on the audience reaction he gets when he steps out, for his role of Daiva that he played in Kantara. He said: “I really don’t know how to react to all this. It’s been almost two years since Kantara was released.” He continued, “At events, so many people come and fall at my feet and treat me with such reverence. I’m at a loss for words when things like this happen. I am not a divine entity. I’m just an actor. What you saw in Kantara was the character I played. I am not that person. I owe it to the daivas and the people for showering me with love. But treat me like an artist. Let reverence be for the gods!”

Meanwhile, the actor shared his excitement about the second film of the franchise that is in the works and also gave insights into the progress of this film titled Kantara: Chapter 1. He said: “A team of 600 people worked non-stop for four months in my hometown of Keradi to set up sets for Kantara: Chapter 1. I haven’t had a single moment to rest, but no complaints!” He added: “Given the kind of expectations the audience has for this, we decided they should have a fully loaded visual treat. So for the parts where VFX is needed we wanted to hire the best, so the studio that worked on films like Lion King and The Chronicles of Narnia are there and the work is split up and goes all over the world including the US, through smoothly. , UK and Bengaluru.”

Now that the film is already on the shelves, we hear that the makers would like to release Kantara: Chapter 1 this year. The film will even be released in multiple languages ​​including Bengali, Hindi and English.
